URGENT!!! AT RISK OF BEING SURRENDERED/EUTHANIZED! CENTERVILLE, OHIO. (willing to drive up to 3 HRS). 2.5 Y/O MALE AKC REGISTERED 'The Guardian' GSD (DOB: 11/30/22). His name is ' RANGER'. Background: Current Shepherd Parent got Ranger when weaned from Petland. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. NOT Good with kids READ BELOW). Good with dogs. UNKNOWN with cats. House trained. Crate trained, they leave the crate door open when alone, he is trained to Free Roam and has Good Behavior when left alone.. Any known medical issues?: NO. HIGH ENERGY?: NO. HIGH PREY DRIVE?:NO . Currently on 'Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice' food. Weighs 82 lbs. Good with car rides?: YES . Socialized with other dogs and/or people?: YES, afraid of strangers at first. Not around other dogs often, but is not reactive when he sees them. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): YES, he needs a Slow Introduction and nothing that will overwhelm him, preferably a nice calm environment. Loves: playing fetch (his favorite) - balls - being with his people - going on walks - chilling near his person - being near his person - interactive play - Members Mark Dental Treats (that they call 'toothbrush') - Barkworthy's Collagen Sticks - training - learning - structure and routine. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: YES. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): EXCELLENT. *Good on a Leash?: YES. *Lovable?:YES . *Eager and fast learner?: VERY. *Food/Treat/Toy Motivated?: TREAT AND BALL. Ranger is an amazing guy. He is great with family kids and kids that he is familiar with. He is anxious around strangers and kids that he does not know, and he reacts out of Fear, and this has caused one incident in the past where he actually bit a child. It was a mild bite and no action was needed. Because of this, Ranger will thrive best in a home with NO young kids. Ranger has also not been around stranger dogs often, but does amazing with dogs that he knows. He is NOT Reactive when on walks or if he sees other dogs and shows NO aggression. He was given an A+ at his Boarding Facility, everyone adores him and loves him there. Ranger is amazing and great with his circle of people. He loves his people very much and is relaxed and happy. He does not do well in an environment with lots of visitors coming and going and unfamiliar faces in the home. He is very loving and loyal. Calm and well-mannered. He thrives on set routines and structure. He will make an amazing companion for the right person. Ranger does need his own private space when there are a lot of people in the home so that he can feel safe and not overwhelmed (holiday get togethers, etc). Ranger is currently NOT allowed on furniture. Re Homing because�'�|: The Current Shepherd Parent has frequent visitors and lots of kids that come over to the home and Ranger cannot relax in this type of environment. They love him very much and they are heartbroken, but they don't want to risk another incident, and feel they need to get Ranger placed in a home that is more equipped for his needs. Will thrive best�'�|?: In a loving home with NO young kids + Not a lot of frequent visitors coming over + Preferably NO cats + in a STRUCTURED home with set routines�'�| A nice calm environment where Ranger can relax and thrive.
