This beautiful boy is Bandit. He is an Australian Cattle dog mix approximately 2-3 years old. He was abandoned by his previous owner at Blackwater River State Park. He spent over a month alone in the woods before the park ranger was finally able to get him to trust her enough to catch him. At that time we took him in, and had intended to be his furever home. We've had him for about a year now and unfortunately, in that time, our other dogs we had prior to his arrival have become increasingly more aggressive towards him and he's been attacked multiple times. Our home is no longer safe for him. In the time that we've had him, we've gotten him fixed, up to date on shots, and house trained. Would do best in a home without other pets as he is uneasy around dogs due to being attacked. He cannot be with cats. Has a high prey drive due to his breed and he will hunt them. Nothing but sweet with our 4 kids. He's like a giant puppy. Loves to play, chew on toys, and run. Goes crazy for a water hose. You must have a fenced in yard. He's a companion dog. Bonds to one person and wants to be with them at all times. He is trained to eat in his kennel as a measure to help him adjust to being in it. Has pretty bad separation anxiety due to being a companion breed who was abandoned and is very much a pup so he will need to be kenneled when nobody is home to prevent unwanted chewing. He doesn't require a kennel at night. Will sleep on the floor next to you on a blanket. Not looking to just get rid of him. Looking to find him a loving, stable, and most importantly SAFE home that can FINALLY be the furever he deserves. He's such a good sweet boy who deserves so much more than the life of fear he's known so far. He could be the PERFECT companion for the right owner. Is it you??
