About Rocky

Rocky is very energetic, loving, and smart. He's also very high energy. He's a working dog breed, so he's always on the go and wants a job to do. He LOVES to play fetch, tug of war, and loves to wrestle/ chase with other dogs. He also loves car rides and long snuggles on the couch. He knows how to shake and sit. He's a very quick learner, but needs a strong willed owner who will positively train and direct him. Rocky would thrive in a home that has an active lifestyle with experienced dog owners. Preferably a large yard to run around and sunbathe in. He would do best with a well trained playmate. Rocky does NOT get along with cats. He's almost fully house trained. He's a puppy who lived outside the first 5-6 months of his life, so he's still learning & needs continued patience and consistency in this area. He's up to date on his puppy vaccines and already has his rabies 1 year. He is not fixed. He's currently on Trifexis for flea, tick, and intestinal parasite prevention. Rocky was rescued as a severely emaciated stray off the side of the road in the cruel summer heat. For the first 5-6 months of his life, surviving was his only priority. Because of this, he is still very food driven and obsessed. He's never exhibited any food aggression with other dogs, but we've always fed him separately so that aspect is unknown. If he isn't given adequate exercise and mental stimulation, he's been known to exhibit compulsive behaviors like excessive barking and tail chasing. After expending this pent up energy, these behaviors cease. Rocky needs a home where he can be trained, spoiled, and loved on all the time. He has the potential to make an excellent companion with a committed and experienced owner. Vet records will be provided. Additional survey and vetting required upon inquiry.
