About Midas

Adoption Fee: $25
Lab / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Although he's an old man at around 10 years, he still has an abundance of energy that even the vet was surprised when I mentioned his age. He once had a spayed female companion pitbull friend, but it has been 6 years since she passed away. He does tend to jump on people when excited, but it isn't nearly as bad as when he was younger. He plays well with my 5 year old niece, and she says that Midas just 'plays too much.' He knows how to stay, but sit is hit a hit or miss. He learned stay about a year ago, so he's a bright boy who can definitely still learn new tricks. He does bark at people or at anything he thinks is outside, but he is not a biter nor does he have a history of such. He is protective of his family as he once scared off an intruder that attempted to break in. He gets anxious at loud noises, but so long as you remain calm and don't talk in a different way (i.e. using a baby voice when you usually don't) he'll just seek out your presence and stay nearby for reassurance. He doesn't have resource guarding tendencies as I have taken food out of his mouth when he was years younger and wasn't trained not to take food from the table yet. He is potty trained to go outside and will stand by an outside door to show it. He also responds to the phrase 'wanna go pee?,' and goes to stand by the door if he needs to go outside or stares at you if he doesn't.
