Named after the color gold like his beautiful coat and his little heart of gold. Oro was surrendered to rescue due to being snappy with the young children in the home and the larger dog. His issue? Well, he needs to be neutered (working on it), and he is fearful and unsure. Lack of confidence sometimes manifests into what appears on the outside to be aggression. We have made GREAT strides though! We started right away with correcting his behavior and lots of exposure. We were told he wasn't good with cats but here he has been bc we won't tolerate anything else. He corrects well which is a bonus. He has met horses, calves, goats, pigs, poultry, and lots of farm cats and indoor cats. He has met them all well and is corrected if overly interested which he has responded well to. Oro does great on a leash! I love that he checks back in regularly when on a long lead and I think with training, he would do wonderful off lead with recall. He is a super sweet and cuddly boy. Wants to be with his people and would be a great travel partner too. He crates on command. He loves affection. We will keep working with him on children but recommend older children for now. Littles are intimidating for Oro. He also will continue to improve with his interactions and introductions to dogs especially after neuter. He is around many dogs here and although anxious, he minds his manners. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption can be finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175. All residents are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A secure physically fenced yard is prioritized if a yard is present. Temperament cannot be and is not guaranteed.
