PHOENIX, AZ- MALE CHOW PUPPY 'HACHI' IN NEED OF A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE HOME W/ BREED EXPERIENCE/PRIOR OWNERSHIP, people and dog friendly with female dogs in his home Please help us find a loving, responsible chow savvy home for adorable Hachi, an approximate 9 month old puppy said to be 50 lbs now. He was purchased by a family who has multiple dogs including pomeranians, a mastiff and micro bully. However, Hachi is not getting along with the one male pom in the home. The family now realizes they cannot take care of Hachi and asked us for help. The owner reported no other behavior or medical issues other than not getting along with the male dog in the home, and he may bark at new people. Hachi has been around older children who are teenagers, and also around a cat who the owner said, 'he just runs up and like smells them'. They also said 'he's active outdoors but calm indoors'. If you are breed savvy and are interested in meeting and adopting Hachi in person, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is assisting with his placement. Sorry, we do not do transport to private homes unless a rescue is involved due to risks of a home or dog not working out for any reason. If you do have another pet, a meet and greet is strongly recommended. And any new dog in a home, and particularly as chow grows up, their personality with others and other dogs may also change, Early and continued socialization with both is important. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual), an application, a vet reference, proof of prior or current chows, and a signed adoption contract. Please note Hachi will need to be brought current on his vaccinations and neutered, costs to be borne by the adopter. Therefore, no adoption fee is required, but a neuter appointment at a vet or clinic will be.
