Hi, my name is Heather. I'm in Lusby, Maryland I'm reaching out with a very heavy heart about a 4-year-old neutered male cat named Max who needs a home better suited for his needs. Max came to me a little over a month ago after spending his entire life with his original family. They made the heartbreaking decision to rehome him because he didn't adjust to their new kitten. I've stayed in contact with them, and they would love to remain connected to whoever takes Max. He's very loved and this has been such a hard transition for everyone. Max is a wonderful, playful boy with so much personality. He loves baths, enjoys going outside on a harness, and still plays like a kitten. He's neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and has been on anxiety medication (given by the vet) for the past few weeks to help with his adjustment to my home. However, Max can be unpredictable at times. He sometimes growls, hisses, or swats without warning-even with people. I'm not sure what triggers these moments. He does not get along with other cats, and because of his behavior I've had to keep him separated from mine. I have a 5 year old bengal mix! He absolutely loves children from ages 11-5 that's what he has been around as I know in my experience! Max is vibrate collar trained, he likes to scratch at doors, and if he does something bad the collar does help. He is a fast learner! Max would do best in a home with children and no other cats, also in a home with someone that can take him outside as much as they can! He loves windows!! He loves birds, his previous owners said he will unalive birds if given the chance! So no bird owners! He is a true hunter!! Max would also benefit in a home where they understand he needs his space, as he doesn't like to snuggle! He will snuggle on his time! He has snuggled with me quite a bit if I have picked him up. He doesn't like to be picked up much.. but I have been working with him on that! I believe he can be taught to do anything you would like him to do as he has so much potential he's only 4! He loves his treats! He's VERY intelligent!! This is such a hard and painful decision, but I know in my heart Max deserves a home where he can feel safe, secure, and loved for who he is. Please, if there's anything you can do-whether it's helping directly, pointing me toward someone who can, or even just sharing Max's story-I would be forever grateful. He's a special boy who just needs the right person to give him a second chance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and for any help you can give. With gratitude, Heather
