Goldie came to us from a hoarding situation. She lived with over 40 dogs in a house of horrors. She was emaciated and pregnant, for the 3rd time at only 2 years old. None of the pups from the first two litters survived. She almost didn't survive the 3rd litter. Thankfully, she found her way to us and was a wonderful mom to 7 puppies who have all been adopted into loving homes. Mommy is now spayed, fully vetted, HW Neg & a healthy, happy, 25-pound Chi-Weenie Boxer mix that's ready for a real home. Shalom's actual birthday is 3/25/21. She looks to be a border collie/terrier cross. She was in a high-kill shelter with an hour and a half to live when we found her. She'd been dumped by her owner 50 miles away from home with a Brachial Plexus injury. When the shelter that found her called the owner, the owner picked her up. A month later, she was found with the same injury after being dumped 50 miles from home again! We did extensive physical therapy on Shalom for 6 weeks, but finally had to resort to amputating the injured arm. This girl is, by far, the best-behaved dog we've ever had in our care. House trained, knows commands, has excellent recall, and is a pleasure to host. She just doesn't like being left alone. That said, she doesn't mind it for a few hours as long as Goldie is with her. The dogs at the Retreat are in mini-apartments, not kennels. For months, the girls saw each other from across the hall without interacting. Goldie was raising puppies, and Shalom didn't do well with other dogs. When it was finally time to wean the puppies, we didn't have another room available, so we took a chance and let them be together. The girls became fast friends. Now they don't like to be apart. They sleep together, play together, follow each other around, and even share a bowl at feeding time. They both do well on car rides. Sholom is excellent on a leash, but Goldie is clueless. They have a big fenced yard to play in, so we don't get a lot of leash practice. They're both healthy, fully vetted, housebroken, and trained to use potty pads if we have to leave them for more than a few hours. But they don't care much for other dogs, and they will chase the cat if you aren't supervising, even though they don't act viciously towards her. They are not good around farm animals or poultry. There are tons of photos and videos of the dynamic duo on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/AngelsRetreatRescue If you think you're the answer to our many prayers for them, please fill our an application here: https://form.jotform.com/80595190554159 Thank you for taking the time to read about our girls! We hope you find your new furry family member(s) soon (3
