About Samantha

Be still my heart! Samanatha is absolutely adorable!!! This little nugget is just 10 months old. She looks to be a smooth-coated dachshund mix. For one so little, Samantha has a big and out-going personality. There isn't a person she doesn't love and want attention from. She likes other dogs and can be an exuberant player. She is young and her energy may just puppy energy. Or it may come from the fact that she'd been neglected for so long. Now that she receives a lot of love and attention from our staff and volunteers, she relishes it all and gives back in droves. Samantha has a gorgeous, glossy black coat. Her big brown eyes are expressive and when she lays them on you, it's game on. She'll run towards you for some pets and snuggles. She is a bouncy, happy, fun, sweet, friendly and affectionate puppy. Samanatha will do great in a house with another active dog, who can work with her smaller size and is up for playing. She does fine with cats. She is tiny, weighing about 12 lbs. She's a confident little nugget. She walks well on a leash. She likes to go places and is up for adventure. Samantha is a terrific little companion. She will wiggle her way into your heart and fill your home with so much love and laughter. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
