VIXEY is a 1 year old, 11 pound Papillon mix who was found living under a collapsed house. She's one of those dogs that you can tell is grateful to have been rescued. Her whole butt wiggles when she wags her tail, which is ADORABLE. VIXEY is a precious puppy looking for attention. She will lovingly nuzzle her nose into your neck waiting for pets and kisses. She is very affectionate, loves tummy scratches, and could literally just sit and be petted all day. At night, she sleeps snuggled up with her foster family in the big bed. VIXEY can be timid at first, but generally gets along with most dogs she meets. She is still unaware of personal space with the other dogs in the home, so having a dog that will politely tell her when they're not interested in playing is a must. If there is another dog in the home, they will need to be as active as her. She loves to play and has played with dogs her size and bigger. Her best home will have a doggie friend in it, but she could be okay as an only with lots of love, attention and activity. Probably no kids, just because she can be a little mouthy/loud and loves to bite while playing (working on it!) Cats are an unknown. VIXEY is 90% house broken and will go potty in the backyard or while on a walk. She has had minimal accidents in the house. She walks great on a leash and loves going on long walks. While on her walks she will whine when she sees other dogs because she wants to meet them. She also will try to chase birds and squirrels. VIXEY is high energy and loves playing fetch with the tennis balls in the house, but will make pretty much anything a toy - slippers, paper towels, cardboard boxes. She can be a little guarded while eating, likely related to having to scrounge for her food, so we do recommend feeding her separately. VIXEY has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida.
