About Rex

���� Meet Rex! ���� This lovable 7-year-old staffy mix is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped, weighing in at a solid 80 lbs. He is kennel trained, 98% leash trained, and potty trained. Rex's story is a heartbreaking one, so grab your tissues. He was loved by my previous neighbors, and we would often dog sit for them. Last September, Rex's dad was involved in a tragic vehicle accident that took another man's life, leading to a series of unfortunate events. After losing his job and facing personal struggles, Rex's dad, along with his wife and Rex, had to move in with his father. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when they were all forced out, leaving Rex with nowhere to go. We stepped up to take him in, and he has been part of our family ever since. Older kids only 12 years and up he's a big boy and at times wants his own space. Currently, Rex's mom can't keep him due to housing restrictions, and his dad is in jail. It's not fair to Rex, who is such a good boy with a goofy personality. While he doesn't get along with other animals, Rex loves to lounge on the couch, is not destructive, and has a calm demeanor. We have worked hard with him, and he is now a dream to walk on a leash thanks to his new training harness. Rex deserves a stable home of his own after being in limbo for the past 9 months. We want to keep him local to the Knoxville, Chattanooga, Cleveland, and Athens areas. A meet-and-greet, home check, and references are necessary for potential adopters.
