About Bloke

URGENT - EXTENDED DEADLINE TO JULY 23 @ 4PM Bloke (A277909) Bloke is a sweet, 8-year-old, 74 lb Lab mix who has been at Pinal County Animal Care and Control since November 2024 after being picked up as a stray. Although he had a microchip, sadly, no one ever came to reclaim him. Bloke is crate trained, housebroken, dog friendly, and walks well on a leash. He's a gentle soul who loves hanging out with people and spending time in the office-anywhere away from the loud, stressful kennel environment. Unfortunately, Bloke has spent 9 months in the shelter, and it's taken a toll. He arrived with a severe skin condition, including open infected blisters and significant hair loss. While medication has helped, the ongoing stress of shelter life keeps triggering flare-ups, making it impossible for him to fully recover. As a senior dog, the shelter is especially hard on Bloke, and his physical and emotional health is declining. Bloke needs a calm, stable home with an adopter who can continue his veterinary care (PCACC will provide 3 months of medication upon adoption). Because he's not very gentle when taking treats, a home with adults or older children would be best. What Bloke needs more than anything is to be out of the shelter and back in a loving home where he can rest, heal, and just be a dog again.
