You are encouraged to call the shelter for updated information and availability, and to answer your specific questions. Hi, I'm Missy! I'm a mature girl who is 9 years old and weighs 42lbs. I was a much-loved companion who ended up in the shelter system after I was sadly found with my deceased owner. I never left his side. I was pretty scared, understandably when I first got here. As we pieced clues together of my past, we learned that my dad took very good care of me and I was seen with regular vet care, fixed, and basically by his side all the time. I was also found with a young kitten so am presumed to be safe with cats and small animals. I have met dogs politely at the shelter, but tend to avoid them. If you have a canine in your home, I'd prefer a more mellow independent friends versus a rowdy playmate. I appear to be a heeler mix, and if you're familiar with my kind, you'll know that we are often 1-person dogs. I thought I would never have to start over, but since I lost my person, I have decided that my friends at the shelter can be a temporary placeholder and I greet them with play bows and leg leans. I'm being so much more open to meeting new people now, and I have quite the silly side. I am mature, and a bit set in my ways, so I'm looking for someone who understands my quirks.
