Jah' is 1-2 years old, I found him in a busy street, his owners never claimed him, he has been registered with our humane society and has received vaccinations, chipped, and will be neutered this weekend through their program. I have done everything I can to provide for him, but I just simply don't have the means to hold on to him anymore. Throughout the time I've had him I've gotten to know him better and he has all of the wonderful intelligent qualities of a Dutch Shepherd, he's very sweet, loves people, loves to play, but his prey drive exceeds his respect for me, and I have three cats and four horses, so his fixation over my cats has made life very hard for me and all of my other animals. Jah needs a home with NO cats or small animals, He gets along great with my bull terrier but my guy is tough and plays hard, I do not know his temperament around other dogs. I believe it is a case by case basis. Jah needs a lot of time, he has pretty extreme separation anxiety, I don't feel comfortable leaving him on his own so him and my other dog are crated any time I'm not there. He is good about his crate but from what I have experienced he has the potential to be extremely stressed/destructive if he is crated and left by himself. I have to be honest about him because I don't want him to be placed in a home without knowing what he needs. I think he has the potential to be a wonderful dog, ideally with someone who can spend 24/7 with him or someone who has a dog that can be his best buddy. I have really resisted taking him to a rescue because he is so sensitive kind, but his fixation with my cats has become very hard to manage.
