About DARLA & ELLA

DARLA and ELLA are adorable 13-year-old Maltipoo sisters surrendered after their owner passed away. These girls must be adopted together, they've never known life apart. Both very sweet and outgoing with great personalities and wagging tails! DARLA (white with black) is spunky, sweet, and a little more social than her sister. She loves attention, enjoys short walks, and has adorable little bursts of energy. She's mostly deaf and has limited vision, but navigates familiar spaces with confidence, especially when her sister is nearby. She weighs 13.6 pounds. ELLA (mostly black) is Darla's devoted shadow. She is shyer, gentle, and deeply bonded to her sister. She's protective of Darla but warms up beautifully with patience. She loves food and being wherever her sister is. She can see and hear well, and loves curling up with Darla for cozy naps. Ella weighs 14.9 pounds. They'd do best in a calmer home, but are fine with older kids. They are also good with cats. All of their foster homes have had other dogs in them and they're fine with others, but probably wouldn't be happy in a home with bigger, very energetic dogs. They both do fairly well with potty pads, but do have occasional accidents. They walk great on leashes, eat well, and bring a happy, loving presence to any home. Because they have some age related sight and hearing issues, fenced yard is preferred. At night they like to sleep together in a soft doggy bed. Darla and Ella have had wellness checks at the vet, are up-to-date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, have had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and are microchipped with lifetime registrations. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
