Penny Lane is a sweet, playful girl who loves food, toys, and car rides. We frequently take naps together and she loves to cuddle, even though she overheats. I got Penny from a high-kill shelter about 8 weeks ago and while I love her with my whole heart, she has come with some challenges (namely separation anxiety and stranger anxiety/male aggression). She also struggles with resource guarding, although never with me. A pet sitter did get nipped though due to trying to take Penny's food while she was stressed and eating. We are working with a behaviorist to find the right medication and training protocol, but I do wonder if there is someone out there better equipped to give her what she needs. I live in an apartment in a busy city with lots of people and dogs, have to go to work three times a week, and am disabled. My dream is for her to find a woman with a farm or large property that she can roam (or a dog trainer who can work with her on her fear). I will be very sad to lose her, but ultimately want the life where she can be happiest and most fulfilled. She is smarter than me, eager to please, and still so full of love for how hard her life has been. She shows a lot of potential per the behaviorist because she is so sweet at home. She is potty trained (to the point where she'll bark at me when she needs to go out), crate trained, and knows a variety of commands (sit, down, stay, place, roll over, shake, touch, go get a toy). She picks up new knowledge extremely fast but does need someone who can be consistent as she is too smart for her own good (and smart enough to learn what she can get away with). Any potential owners will need to be extremely vetted because I want to make sure you're both set up for success. I do not believe she would be a good candidate for a home with children unless they are older.
