About Rose

URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED FOR ROSE! Video included. Boarding is no longer sustainable. We are out of options. Please help us find a foster or forever home for this sweet senior girl. She is nothing but love. On May 6, 2025, Rose was found wandering alone through a senior community in Riverside. She was exhausted, dangerously thin, covered in ticks, and so dirty and matted you could barely tell what color she was. She looked like a dog who had given up on life. A kind maintenance worker gently called to her, and Rose slowly walked up to him- tail low, eyes tired, but grateful for kindness. But the community couldn't keep her there and animal control was on the way. She was just hours from being taken to one of the highest-kill shelters in California, where the officer bluntly stated she'd likely be euthanized upon intake. Thankfully, a networker got there just in time to save her. Rose has been through so much. She's had multiple baths, countless ticks carefully removed (lost count after 50), and she's finally tick-free, healed, healthy and happy. Vet mentioned that she could have died. Through it all, she's remained nothing but sweet, gentle, and trusting. She's now fully vetted and ready for a home. About Rose: Senior German Shepherd mix. Only 7 years old. Petite at just 56 lbs. Spayed. LOVES people, children, and other dogs. Gentle, affectionate, calm, and loves doing zoomies when she's happy. Fully vetted, tick-free, and healed. Unfortunately, Rose has been in boarding because we haven't been able to find her a foster or adopter. Boarding is extremely expensive and we simply cannot sustain it much longer. She needs a foster ASAP. Please, if you have a safe space for Rose even temporarily- you can literally save her life again.
