About Buddy

Buddy is a three year old Great Pyrenees. We adopted him a few weeks ago to guard our goat herd. Unfortunately, Buddy injured my 3 month old wether and I can't stop him from chasing the herd around. I was working with him, but now I can't trust him to not hurt my smaller goats. He needs plenty of space to roam with at least a 5' high fence to keep him contained. He does well on a leash and is a very sweet boy. When we got him his coat was severely matted, so we had to shear him. His ideal family would have extensive knowledge of his breed. I think he would do fine just as a pet as long as he got plenty of exercises. He seems to enjoy being around people more than livestock. Purely because of his size, I would not recommend a home with small children.
