Hi everyone, Sweet Pea here, I'm a 10 year old spaniel mix and need a special home that will appreciate a sweet girl like me. I've had a very hard life and need someone who will love and spoil and be patient with me. My new home needs to only have a couple of steps because of my rear leg issues and I'm not super stable with stairs so no homes with big staircases. I can handle the stairs off my foster mom's deck but they are bigger than most inside stairs. Believe it or not, I wasn't able to walk when I came to SOCKS due to a dislocated hip. The sweet ladies there took me to a specialist and I had FHO (Femoral Head Ostomy) surgery to repair this and when the specialist evaluated it he let them know that I also have chronic cruciate ligament injuries (torn ACLs) but they were very old injuries and are not causing me any discomfort. Even with these limitations I'm a pretty active girl and would really be best with a fenced in yard. I love to spend time outside with my foster mom and will lay in the sun and shade. I'm a good girl and would also like to help you with any yardwork you are doing. Even though I lived outside most of my life, I've learned to use a doggie door and my foster siblings have taught me to be housebroken although I may need time to adjust to a new environment. I will periodically tell foster mom I need to go outside but I really just want her to go out with me. I do have a big voice and like to talk to my person frequently during the day so no apartments or condos for me. I like to sleep on a bed next to my person's bed and will generally not move until the morning. I am smart and know how to tell time and once I know the schedule I let you know it's time to wake up, eat and get treats. I really never had much attention before so I'm just now learning about toys and chewing on bones although I don't think they are as much fun as foster mom has made them out to be but she says that will come. I am not okay with female dogs and I also prefer a home without kids or cats. I really, really love to lay with foster mom on the couch and sometimes I even get in her lap but I do need a small ramp or step to get up onto the furniture with her. Like most Cockers, I love to look out the front window and play watchdog. I'm okay with most other dogs but I would like to be an only dog or maybe have another calm male dog to be my buddy. So this senior dog would really love to have a senior hooman so we can be the bestest companions and friends. Are you the one for me?
