Please share w family and friends, if you want to adopt an amazing dog, that requires some additional training. I feel confident some additional training for Walter is the way to go so he can work past his toy and food aggression w other dogs! Let's give Walter a chance to get properly adopted! A family reached out to me in hopes I can help properly rehome Walter their 1-year-old Golden Retriever/ Great Pyrenees blend boy, he weighs 86 pounds, fully vetted, he is very well trained, he knows commands, he sits and lays on command, very intelligent boy and a love bug!! The family has decided they must re home him as he is toy & food aggressive w their senior dogs. I feel that Walter would do best to be adopted as an only dog or to a family that will invest further training as he is reactive for some reason to other dogs with food and toys. I feel his training will be worth working through as he already knows so much. Walter's Bio Loves water, playful but also calms very well. He's very curious & gives hugs. He's a little skiddish. Potty trained 100%. Kennel trained ( it's never been a form of punishment) so we never want using it as such. He also knows the Word Kennel. He sleeps in it at night & when home alone (only). He thinks he's a lap dog. He's never been given human food. He has a particular eating habit, he nibbles walks away goes back & nibbles more. Patience is Key with Walter. He's the definition of a Golden Retriever, he WILL get into things . He loves to walk in his leash, stays right with you. We allow him on the furniture but he can easily be trained not to. Loves cuddles, huge lap dog. Good protector . Loves chest rubs, that's 'instant calm' & it's precious. He'd be better with non stuffed toys , he literally eats those. He comes with his extra large kennel with a nice orthopedic/Kong mattress.
