Phoenix is a stunning, affectionate male Doberman Pinscher (almost a year old) with a heart as big as his goofy grin. At high-medium energy, he's always ready to play and be part of the action, but he also knows when it's time to settle down and relax. Whether you're up for a game of fetch or a quiet evening on the couch, Phoenix is happy to match your vibe. He's crate trained and knows his basic obedience commands including sit, down, stay, and place. His training foundation is solid, and he thrives with consistent structure and guidance. Phoenix was originally brought in for a working dog role in scent detection, but he's proven to be more of a companion than a focused worker-he's just not a 'nose to the ground' type of guy. Because of this, I've made the decision to find him a loving home where he can live his best life as a cherished pet. Phoenix does great with people and has lived in a home with children of all ages. However, due to his size and playful nature, I strongly recommend he not be around small children unsupervised-he doesn't quite realize how big and bouncy he is just yet! When kids are active in the house, Phoenix has always been kept in a secure area out of caution. He has no issues with other dogs, though, as with any dog, proper introductions are important. He's also been exposed to farm animals like sheep and ducks-he shows some curiosity but hasn't been reactive, as long as the animals are safely fenced in. Phoenix would thrive in a home that can provide him with both physical exercise and mental engagement. He's best suited for an active household familiar with large breeds, ideally with a yard to explore or an owner who enjoys walks, hikes, or interactive play. If you're looking for a loyal, trainable, and fun-loving companion who's already past the puppy chaos but still full of zest for life, Phoenix might just be your perfect match. Full disclosure, I am very selective on where this sweet boy goes, nor am I in any rush to find him a home. Ideally, the best environment for this dog would be with a family that is active and loves to do things to include bring the dog with them wherever they go (trips, camping, etc). Also a family that wants to grow in their knowledge and experience with Pheonix, like taking basic obedience lessons with him. He is a very fun dog to work with and there is no doubt in my mind that he can also pass the Canine Good Citizen test! A yard with at least a 4 ft fence or a home with room for him to play in would be ideal. Pheonix enjoys the outside, but is not a dog that is meant to stay kenneled outside or on a tie out. I will ask for either a virtual or physical site visit to ensure the conditions are suitable for him. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me!
