About Ben

Adoption Fee: $200
American Staffordshire Terrier / Pit Bull
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Ben is a gorgeous, energetic and fun, one-year-old, 50-pound, tan and white American Bully looking for a loving guardian. Ben loves women and children; He takes a longer time to warm up to men. Sadly, he came into rescue needing FHO surgery on both hips after being abused by the man who 'owned' him. The hips healed beautifully, but the emotional scars will take longer to heal. He must have been kept in a cage or basement and never let outside, because the city life scares him, and the outside world seems unfamiliar. So, he'd be happiest in a home in a quieter neighborhood with a yard to play in. Ben loves other dogs and we think he'd love to live with another dog. Confident dogs help boost his own confidence. He's great with kids but doesn't know his own size, so best with children seven years and older. Ben is healthy, de-wormed, de-flead, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Because of his hip surgeries, he's not good at jumping on furniture. Ben is crate-trained and working on perfecting his housebreaking. He loves training sessions especially when they involve treats. To meet and possibly adopt Ben, please fill out an adoption application at www.fcacc.org After the application is complete, please contact [email protected] to schedule an appointment to meet him. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control Rescue.
