Looking for help to rescue rabbits from outdoor hoarding situation! There were 50 rabbits last week when the situation was brought to our attention, and the owner is now down to about 40 after killing some this week. She has agreed to accept help in rehoming and is temporarily holding on further culling. The rabbits are being housed outside in tiny hand-made coops/hutches with chicken wire floors. They had no hay until we intervened (only pellets), and makeshift water bottles. They have minimal protection from the elements of the southern Utah climate and no heating or cooling is present for temperature extremes. As a bunny advocate and bunny mom myself, it is a truly heartbreaking situation to witness. There are all different breeds and mixes including Rex, English Spot, Harlequin, and Sable. We have not seen evidence of fleas, mites, or other parasites. Overgrown nails and sore hocks were tended to by a small group of us over the weekend. Our group will help arrange all transport and local vet has generously offered to spay/neuter, and vaccinate at no cost. Please let me know if you are able/willing to help as we are desperately looking for placements so we can start pulling rabbits out ASAP. I am also available anytime to discuss further details over the phone. I have faith in the amazing rabbit network around the country that we can help get these rabbits out of this situation.
