About Ava

Meet Ava! She is a 7-year-old, 50-pound, boxer-hound (best guess) mix with a sweet soul and a loving, gentle heart. She's the perfect mix of playful and laid-back. She loves going for walks or run in the yard but is equally happy to lounge and snuggle for a relaxing day in. She'll basically match your energy. She crossed the threshold of puppyhood a while ago so she won't be the cause of any chaos. She's also outgrown her chewing habits and really would just prefer a cuddle, so your belongings are safe in her hands. Ava is wonderful on leash, house-trained, and crate-trained, and she already knows sit, stay, down, and paw. She adores all people and will happily seek out affection, soaking up all the pets and belly rubs you have to offer. She does great with children and has lived with a cat before. She is currently in foster in the DC area after being sent up from a partner shelter in South Carolina. When she was at the shelter, she was the shelter manager's favorite!
