RUDY IS OUT OF TIME! HE NEEDS A MIRACLE HOME ASAP! Video included. One of the most urgent, heartbreaking pleas we've ever had to make. Please take a moment to read Rudy's story. It's painful. It's raw. But it deserves to be heard and he deserves a different ending. Meet Rudy. He's 8 years old. A gentle, sweet, resilient soul. He was found limping and terrified on the streets near Cleveland Ave and Van Buren Blvd. Rudy had been dumped and discarded like trash. His body told us everything:Scarred skin. Filed-down teeth. Fresh wounds. The vet believes Rudy was used as a bait dog in dog fighting- defenseless, abused, and betrayed. As if that wasn't cruel enough, Rudy was also battling cancer. A large, painful tumor was growing on his leg. We were preparing for surgery, praying donations would come in. But then, everything changed. The mass ruptured The wound became open, raw, and unhealable. We rushed him to emergency surgery. But the tumor had grown too large, too complex to remove. The only options were amputation or euthanasia. We chose to fight for Rudy. Because Rudy still wants to live. He sniffs flowers. He explores the yard with curiosity. He melts into every pet, every cuddle, every soft toy like it's a gift from heaven. Rudy had surgery. He pulled through like a CHAMP. All his margins were clear. And guess what? He looks AMAZING! He's smiling. He's thriving. We even threw him a Hawaiian-themed post-surgery party because he is loved, and he deserves to feel that every single day. But now we are at a breaking point. He's recovering in a hotel to protect his wound from infection, but we can only afford to keep him there until June 22nd. After that, we have nowhere for him to go. And he can't go back to boarding. It's not safe for his surgical wounds. Rudy needs a hospice foster NOW. He needs a clean, quiet, indoor space where he can heal. The rescue will cover ALL medical expenses. We just need YOU. Someone with a huge heart, who is the soul behind the scars. Rudy is not just surviving, he's thriving: He LOVES belly rubs! He ADORES cuddle sessions! He's a total foodie and never turns down a treat. He looks SO HANDSOME in his shirts. He cuddles up with soft plush toys like a baby. He is the sweetest, most loving, most inspiring dog we've ever met. He is the BESTEST boy in the world. He's been through hell and yet he still believes in love. He still believes in people.
