Harlan is a 3-year-old hound mix (Wisdom Panel Results: 53% American Foxhound, 26% Plott Hound, 19% Treeing Walker Coonhound, 2% Bluetick Coonhound) I rescued after he was abandoned on the side of the road. He's sweet, loving, and full of energy-especially when it comes to tracking. I had a DNA test done and confirmed his hound background, which explains his strong instincts. He loves to be outside and is always eager to follow a scent. Sadly, we're no longer able to provide a safe or suitable environment for him. Our fence isn't high enough to contain him once he's caught a scent, and between my mother's and my health challenges, we can't safely manage his energy level. Even with a prong collar, he's pulled hard enough to knock us over. It's not his fault-he just needs a better fit. He's up to date on all vaccinations and I have all his paperwork. I'd love to see him with someone who has a secure yard-or even a family that hunts, has horses, etc-where he can thrive. If there's any help you can offer, I would be so grateful. I just want to make sure he ends up somewhere safe and loved.
