IT TAKES A VILLAGE, AND YOU ARE MINE***Thank you so much [Case opened on 6/30/25]. URGENT!!! MILAN, MI. (willing to drive up to 3 HRS). 5 Y/O FEMALE BLACK GSD. (DOB: 6/14/20). Her name is 'NOVA '. Background: A family had Nova practically all of her life. The family got Nova for the 16 year old daughter. When the daughter moved out, she took Nova with her. She has recently had a baby and no longer wants Nova. They were actually threatening to have Nova euthanized because Nova started having bowel movements in the home, which is most likely a result of the wrong diet. The Current Shepherd Foster is a relative and she stepped up and took Nova to foster until she can find her Furever Home. She has taken her to the vet, gotten her all up to date and is also working on finding out what diet is right for her. As you can see from the pics, Nova is now being pampered and loved. UTD on shots WITH record. NOT Fixed. Good with kids. Good with LARGE dogs, AGGRESSIVE TO SMALL DOGS. UNKNOWN with cats. House trained. UNKNOWN Crate trained. Any known medical issues?: has flaky skin and seems to not be able to process fats too well, needs tested for EPI to see if she needs to be treated for a proper diet and whatever else to help her thrive . HIGH ENERGY?:NO . HIGH PREY DRIVE?:UNKNOWN . Currently on TBD food. Weighs 51 lbs. Good with car rides?:YES . Loves: playing fetch - tug of war - cuddling - going on walks - chilling on the couch - playing with kids - balls - sleeping in bed with her person - squeaky toys - stuffies - playing - being near her person. Socialized with other dogs and/or people?: UNKNOWN. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): the Current Foster says that she seems okay, nothing crazy but will bark . *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: YES. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH):YES . *Good on a Leash?:FAIR (pulls) . *Lovable?:YES . *Eager and fast learner?:YES . Nova is such a great girl. The Current Shepherd Foster loves her and wants only the best for her. Nova has not had the best life. She was with a family who had small dogs that constantly bullied Nova, nipping/biting her and barking at her. They had a very small yard so there was no room for Nova to truly thrive. Nova also seems to have issues processing fat, which is a sign of EPI and has never been tested nor treated for this. Nova is underweight and needs someone that will be able to get her tested to see exactly what needs to be done for Nova to thrive. Nova actually belonged to the 16 year old daughter in the home. Nova had had enough of the small breed dogs bullying her and finally bit back. When she did finally bite back, she killed the small breed dog. This was another Act of the German Shepherd breed getting bullied by the small breed dogs and finally having enough of it. But because of this, Nova needs to be in a home with NO small dogs. When the 16 year old daughter turned 18, she took Nova with her when she moved out. She then became pregnant and had a baby. Nova was having bowel accidents in the home, which most likely is because she needs treatment and the proper diet, but instead of trying to help Nova, she was going to have her euthanized. The relative stepped up and now has Nova in hopes of finding her Furever Home. Re Homing because'|: the Current Shepherd Foster stepped in to prevent a relative from trying to euthanize Nova. The Current Shepherd Foster is not able to keep Nova permanently but wants to make sure she goes to a great home. . Will thrive best'|?: Someone loving who can devote and commit to Nova. Nova needs to be tested for EPI and treated (if necessary) and be on the right diet to help her thrive. NO SMALL DOGS. Comes with: collar, leash.
