AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Punkin Punkin and several others were surrendered to rescue when breeding got out of control. The owners were unable to finance the spay and neuter of their dogs and the result was approximately 40 babies in a very short time. Almost Home Foster & Rescue was able to help with 7. Punkin is 21 months of age. She was born on 09.10.2023. She has completed all of her vetting and is ready for her furever home and family. Punkin is approximately 7.5# She is red in color. She displays the Deer-head Chihuahua appearance. Punkin is just beginning to trust humans, although she is still very shy and fearful of the unknown, and she had little or no socialization at her previous location, she is beginning to develop some trust in her primary human. Punkin will need a home and family where there is constant praise, love, cuddles, compassion and above all - patience. As a general rule, we state that all of our fosters are not house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. Punkin appears to keep her nighttime crate clean and dry. She is in a securely fenced area by day which gives a great deal of space to be mobile in. Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application.
