AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Uriah, nicknamed Uri. Uri was released from a local breeder. He is a 20#, Red, Miniature Poodle. Uri is 6 years of age, with a DOB of 01.25.2019. Uri is fully vetted, including neuter and dental, in addition to vaccinated and microchipped. Uri is a great, active family dog. He is doing well at potty training. He does not like the crate, therefore we are not stressing him out with too many new adventures. He is great on a leash, loves walks and high energy activities. Uri does well with other dogs and is indifferent to cats. He does amazing with children and adults. As a general rule, we state that all of our fosters are not house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. We are looking for a family in which one or more family members work from home, or are retired. Uri is looking for a family that can give him the time, love, and cuddles that he deserves to acclimate to his new family, surroundings and routine.
