About Maverick

Meet Maverick - A gentle and loving Shih Tzu looking for his forever home Maverick is a sweet and laid-back five-year-old with a heart full of love to give. He has a calm demeaner, enjoys spending time outdoors and loves lounging in the sunshine or exploring a backyard. Maverick likes to play but is not overly energetic and responds to basic commands if there is a treat involved. Maverick is neutered, chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and in great health. He is a purebred, with a birthdate of August 1, 2019. He is housetrained, weighs 12 pounds, and sleeps inside a padded crate (although I do not close the door). He thrives on affection and attention and loves taking naps with you. While he has lived with a Boston Terrier, he does best in a calm environment and can sometimes be protective of his space and attention. He would do well as the only dog in the home or possibly with other small, easygoing pets. Maverick should be supervised when around small children, as their fast movements and loud voices can make him uneasy. He's also selective with adult males and takes time to warm up to them, so a patient and understanding household would be ideal. Maverick was my uncle's dog, (I was my uncle's caregiver and took ownership of Maverick when my uncle passed.) My husband recently took on an 11-month-old Rottweiler that has completely changed the dynamics of our household. The only reason for giving him up, is the relationship with the other dogs is not working. This sweet boy would thrive in a home with a yard where he can enjoy the outdoors and a family that will give him the love, structure, and care he deserves.
