Lucy was born July 21, 2016. She was a wonderful, playful puppy. She was raised with other dogs including a cousin. She showed some early signs of aggression towards other dogs but we didn't realize it was serious, just thought she was being a silly puppy. As she grew, her aggression became more obvious. She has received behavioral therapy and is currently on Sertraline (Zoloft). She responded well and her behavior seemed to improve. Her 'episodes' seemed to lessen. She then attacked one of our other dogs, a quiet, shy little guy that is very vulnerable. He survived and was fine and we made some adjustments. In January of this year, Lucy had a spinal cord injury. She was running in the back yard and presumably hit something (tree or fence?) head on. She was completely paralyzed. Since then she has done lots of physical therapy and is doing great! She walks a little wobbly but can run, swim, use the bathroom, etc without assistance. She really has seemed more quiet since the accident. But then she attacked the little guy that she had before. This resulted in his right eye being removed. We need to find a home for her because I think she is too anxious around other dogs and the attacks are going to get worse. She would be very happy with a family that has NO other pets. Jealously seems to be her trigger. She was raised with children and has never shown aggression towards a person. She's a beautiful girl with a great personality when she is in the right environment.
