About Toast

Meet Toast! She's been through the crumbs - now she's ready for the soft life, full of love, warmth, and cozy hidey holes. Toast is a 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair mix who has been waiting for her forever home since January 15th, 2025, making her our longest-term resident at the shelter. This big and beautiful girl may be larger than your average house cat, but her heart is even bigger. With a purr that's as warm as freshly baked bread, she's the perfect companion for those lazy mornings when you just want to brunch in bed. Toast enjoys lounging in sunbeams like butter on warm toast, curling up in cozy cubbies, and quietly observing the world from her hidey hole throne. We're not totally sure what Toast's past life looked like, but the notch in her ear suggests she may have once been an outdoor kitty through a TNR (trap-neuter-return) program. Thankfully, Toast has made it very clear that she's over that rough-and-tumble lifestyle - she's looking for the indoor luxury experience now. All she wants is a soft blanket, a calm environment, and someone patient who will let her open up in her own time. Toast recently spent time in a loving foster home, where we learned that she would most likely prefer to be the only pet. She thrives best in a quiet, low-key home with no pressure - just time, kindness, and snacks. Toast is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, and FIV/FeLV negative.
