Courtesy Posting: TUSTIN (ORANGE COUNTY), CA, So Cal- RESCUE ONLY YOUNG, 46 lLB FEMALE CHOW X ON DEADLINE OF 6/30 OR WILL BE EUTHANIZED - 'SLEIGH BELL' ID #A1921568 ORANGE COUNTY ANIMAL CARE- NEEDS A RESCUE AND THUS ALSO A FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT TO SAVE HER LIFE. BEAUTIFUL BUT SCARED GIRL, FOUND AS A STRAY WITH BOTH A COLLAR AND LEASH , ALLOWED PETTING INITIALLY BUT EXHIBITING FEARFUL AND UNPREDICTABLE BEHAVIOR AT TIMES, MADE RESCUE ONLY ON SHORT DEADLINE! SHE CAN ONLY BE PULLED FROM THE SHELTER BY A RESCUE GROUP NOW. RESCUES NEED FOSTERS THOUGH. The shelter is calling her Sleigh bell and she is very urgent after being found as a stray with a leash that said 'slay', yet no owner came forward. The shelter claims she can't be handled, yet they were able to leash, walk and pet her initially. However, they said she tries to bite when they get near her. The poor girl looks very scared. We don't know if she's hurt as the medical exam was very, very limited, but she did cut her mouth on the catch pole that was used. Several videos were given to us and are included in this post. Sleigh Bell is estimated to be 5 years old and perfectly sized at 46 lbs. We are currently looking for a chow savvy foster or foster-to-adopt and rescue to save her in time. We also could use a volunteer to go down there to get video (an advance appointment would be needed). If you are interested in fostering and are local, or local to a rescue in a position to help, or just need more information or want to help, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement before she is euthanized. To contact the shelter directly IF you are a rescue group, please provide her ID and call Tammy the rescue manager at (714) 796-6425 as well as email [email protected] to inquire. This dog is Rescue only and on deadline of 6/30. This means she cannot be adopted through the shelter by the public, one must go through a rescue group before this time.
