Bailey was taken in as a temporary foster to help find her a new home away from her not-so-great start in life. She was delivered to my home on a Sunday morning in desperate measure to avoid being dropped off at a shelter the next morning. My 82 yo elderly mom took to Bailey and they bonded instantly. Bailey was so caring, and gentle, when walking with my mother (and her walker) and after seeing the companionship and joy she brought my mom I was unable to separate the two of them. Sadly, my mom recently passed a month ago and I am taking care of my elderly husband who is in late-stage dementia and needs constant care and supervision (approaching final stage 7) and we are having to make plans to move into a community with support services where we cannot take Bailey with us. She is such a great companion, sweet loving girl and this is breaking my heart! My former min pin was sick and elderly when we took Bailey in and she constantly barked at Bailey and it was difficult to keep them in the same room together. She passed and we rescued another puppy shortly before my mom passed. The new puppy and Bailey are ok in the same room and seem to get along ok. But since our puppy is only 8 pounds and Bailey is approx. 55-60 pounds, they are always supervised for safety due to the vast difference in size as Bailey did show some toy guarding at one time hiding her toy in her food bowl, which was so cute, but we watch over them with caution. An ideal match would be a quiet, spacious home with no other dogs, work from home preferable, but she is ok alone and does not have to be crated while away although she was crated for the first couple weeks until we could observe that she was safe roaming free. She needs space to roam as she is a happy tail wagger and will knock things over in very tight quarters. We do not have a cat or children, but my nephew has visited and is 10 yo and Bailey was fine with him. She was not fond of men when we first took her in but has since warmed up to my husband and has learned to trust men. She eats human proteins, enjoys snacks, walks on a leash, car rides, and running in the backyard chasing a frisbee and playing fetch. She also prefers to sleep in bed with her human(s). My heart is aching, as the losses these last couple of months are significant including having to part with Bailey now. If you feel you can give Bailey a happy, loving furever home, please reach out. I was told she was born in early May which puts her at 4yo now and only want the best for her as she has been loved and spoiled with so much healthy food, love and attention! We are located in the outskirts of Manchester. If interested, please call or email. Thank you, Deb Phone# 941.404-6250 [email protected]%BD'%BD%BD
