Sylvia is a 4.5-year-old Cornish Rex with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. I adopted her from a rescue three years ago, and she's truly the sweetest cat I've ever known-gentle, affectionate (on her terms), playful, curious, and endlessly people-loving. She's tiny (just 7 lbs), vocal, and full of quirks: she drinks from glasses like a human, adores being chased around the house, and has a deep love for measuring tapes, pom-poms, hairties, and sunny windowsills. Sylvia thrives on human interaction and attention-she'll happily chat with you throughout the day, rub her face against anything that makes noise, and follow you from room to room just to be near you. She's litterbox trained, prefers soft corn litter due to her front declawing (done prior to adoption), and only eats fish in gravy, but also enjoys salmon kibble, Greenies and Churu treats. Unfortunately, Sylvia struggles with separation anxiety. My remote job has become increasingly demanding, with frequent travel that causes her stress-when left alone too long, she may occasionally go outside her litterbox, seeking soft surfaces for comfort. She doesn't self-entertain easily and needs a person (or people) around during the day to help her feel secure and engaged. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but I've come to realize I can no longer give Sylvia the stability and attention she needs. I'm looking for a calm, loving home-ideally with someone who works from home without regular travel, and either has experience with Rexes or understands that this breed is more interactive, sensitive, and high-maintenance than most cats. A home with multiple people (kids welcome!) or even another friendly cat could be ideal. Serious inquiries only-I will be vetting adopters through references, a meet-and-greet, and a home visit. My priority is finding a home where Sylvia can thrive, feel safe, and be adored the way she deserves.
