Our beloved Rufus, we adopted him 5 years ago from the Pound, we have never known his age but at a guess 7-8 years old. He is the most loving and devoted dog (to my husband) Rufus is not really a fan of women and children but adores all men. We have come to terms that Our current situation with a toddler and other dog in the house is making him on edge. We recently met with a vet behaviourist who said the best thing we could do we rehome, even though its breaking my heart selfishly i know its the best thing to do for him. What rufus is looking for: A man that lives alone, that potentially doesnt have family come to stay often, he will not leave your side, he follows my husband from the moment he gets through the door to the moment he leaves. A fenced and secure backyard, units would be fine too as long as hes getting out and about. He is a great guard dog and will let you know if someones near your house. what rufus loves: Food!!!! his nick-name is trash panda, as he will eat anything you offer him (except salad) food is his motivating factor, he loves walks anywhere and is not too bad on the leesh but still working on him pulling on occasion, its not that hes aggressive towards dogs, he just has no interest in them, he is a mans dog. He loves to play with soft toys, not really fussed about balls. Belly rubs and sunbathing are up there too. maaaaan does this dog love to sleep, a fluffy blanket that he can make into his nest. What rufus dislikes: fireworks, women (not always), children, other dogs in the household we love Rufus so much and he has had a rough start to life, multiple owners, been a stray and we think potentially a bait dog, we have loved rufus for over 5 years of having him, but i think he could be happier in a place that meets his needs now.
