About Pippy

Pippy is an adorable young Long-Haired Chihuahua x Dachshund mix with a beautiful red and white coat. This gentle girl has a soft heart but is still learning to trust people. Pippy is shy and a little skittish at first, showing signs of having been mishandled in her past. So, she would benefit from someone who is willing to give her the space to decompress and come out of her shell at her own pace. Pippy thrives with boundaries, a solid routine and guidance. She would prefer a calm, quiet household and would benefit from a confident human and maybe a canine companion to show her the ropes. Overall, she just needs someone patient and loving who would find great joy in witnessing her transformation. When she gets comfortable in her new environment, it's pure magic. She's already made huge progress since being under our rescue. Pippy is easy-going with dogs, cats and kids, although older kids who have more spacial awareness would be better for her in a forever home. She is crate trained and potty trained, and she does prefer a bit of privacy in a yard when doing her business. Pippy is a little adventurer at heart-she loves going on walks and trots along beautifully on a leash, often looking up to check in with her person. She enjoys sunbathing, chasing bees, and melting into your lap for head rubs once she feels comfortable. This little girl has an old soul and so much love to give-she just needs the right person to help her blossom. Could you be the one to give Pippy the love and security she deserves?
