Introducing Otis Redding Wilder an approximately 1 year-old Retriever-Border Collie- German Shepherd mix weighing in at 60 pounds. This gentle regal lad had it rough - having been kept on a chain for his first 9 months of his young life. He had food and water, dog house- but that is it. Very little engagement. Now in a loving foster home- he is ready to join a new family who will continue with his training and include him in new adventures. Otis RW-does not do well with livestock; he has a high prey drive. I suspect that being tethered to a 12-foot chain - he had nothing to do but dream of a chase. He gets along well with his Anatolian-mix foster brother and does ok with the house cat. However, he does seem to favor females. Here tell, squirrels he thinks are lots of fun. Otis Redding Wilder has great potty manners, leash manners, knows his basic commands, has sharp recall and is an eager pleaser! He is a tall boy and has been known to counter-surf. Everything dog is new to him, and he is responding with joy, and curiosity. He still hasn't caught on to the retrieving thing! He is a lovely lad. Now neutered, micro chipped and up to date on vaccines. He is a lounger, loves walks- but probably not a candidate for the dog park at this time. Tell us about you, your family, your activities, your property, the city you live in, other pets in your home, and whatever else puts you on top. The more information about you - the better. What can this companion expect from you and what are your expectations of him/her? Additionally, we will not meet halfway. You must prepare to meet in person without hurry, and be willing to have a home evaluation and viewing of your social media. There is a fee for placement to offset medical, and care. Age-appropriate placement is at the discretion of the guardian advocate. Please allow several or more days for a response- as I review inquiries. I appreciate your understanding- Raleigh's Rescue Advocacy. *DNA testing is not performed, and we can only give you an assumed breed or breed
