About Howie

Howie is a 2 and one-half year old, 11 pound neutered Chihuahua mix. Howie is a friendly, affectionate, playful guy. He has been wonderful with the older kids & adults he has met. We have not seen Howie with smaller children, but expect no problems with respectful people of any age. Days are spent roaming his yard, interacting with the other dogs in his foster home, at his foster grandpa's feet while he is at the computer desk or in his lap while watching the big screen from the couch. Beginning his 3rd night in his foster home, Howie decided it was time to overnight in his foster grandpa's bed. Howie likes the small & bigger dogs he has met. He can be a bit dominant which can make some dogs uncomfortable. Howie (naturally) loves his treats, those made specifically for dogs or fresh uncooked veggies including broccoli, carrots, zucchini or cauliflower. Howie is looking for a family active enough for his young self. A fenced yard would be a plus. Howie is housetrained, neutered, microchipped & up to date on his vaccinations, as well as monthly flea, tick & heartworm preventatives. The application serves as a basis for a conversation. We will make arrangements to meet with prospective adopters for Howie only after a submitted application has been reviewed & a phone conversation has taken place. No meetings will be scheduled without a reviewed application. ***Please note that we are a foster based group located in the southern suburbs of Chicago. Our normal service area is the greater Chicago metropolitan area.***
