'Grey', A2201713, Male, 1 yr. old Staffordshire/Mastiff at West Valley Shelter has been added to the Urgent List due to severe kennel stress!!! Grey is a 1-year-old gray male Staffordshire/Mastiff currently at the West Valley Animal Shelter. He arrived on June 4, 2025, and weighs 98 pounds. Grey has been added to the urgent list due to behavior concerns, including kennel lunging, charging, and a high, raised tail-indicating high arousal and stress. He is a young, strong dog who needs an experienced and patient handler familiar with the breed. Grey is not thriving in the shelter environment and urgently needs a safe exit where he can decompress and be properly evaluated. Animals in our care are struggling and are being placed on urgent alert because they need more out-of-kennel enrichment and socialization with people and other pets. These pets are available for adoption and foster through LAAS, but they are decompensating emotionally and physically. Long-term sheltering is not an option for these pets without significant improvement in their emotional and physical well-being. Please consider taking these pets ASAP. Pets who continue to decompensate or significantly worsen may be placed on the euthanasia alert.
