About Wendall

Wendall has been living at the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter since October 2024. This sweet senior was brought in as a stray, after finding out who his owners were, they did not want him back. To no fault of his own, Wendall has been overlooked for 9 long months. The shelter staff has reached out to Chessie rescues with no luck in getting a response. Wendall is not a cuddle me and love me type of guy. Wendall is a 9-10 year old, neutered male, Chessie Mix. His tail is docked and the shelter thinks he may have some Rottie in him. He's fairly independent, most likely not a snuggler, and likes a good head scratch. He is not picky when it comes to most new people, and as long as you have a ball in your hand he is willing to be your friend. He would truly fetch for hours if you let him. His age has not slowed down his drive to retrieve. Wendall may do okay with another dog in the home, most likely a female as he is picky when it comes to other males. Wendall has been very depressed the last couple of weeks and the shelter is desperate to find his forever home before his spark is gone.
