Jerry is a gorgeous, one-year-old, low rider of a three-legged American Bully looking for a loving guardian. Jerry is loyal, loving dog to his foster mom. He takes a longer time to warm up to men. Sadly, he came into rescue with a shattered femur and multiple broken ribs after being abused by the man who owned him. The ribs healed, and the shattered leg was removed but the emotional scars will take longer to heal. He has adjusted beautifully to life on three legs. However, due to being a brachycephalic dog (a dog that has a shortened muzzle), he has little stamina on walks. Jerry is otherwise healthy, de-wormed, de-flead, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Jerry is currently living with a confident easy-going dog in his foster home. He can live with a similar dog, or as an only pet, preferably in a home with a fenced-in yard. He would do best in a home with adults. Jerry is housebroken, crate-trained, and well-behaved in the home. He loves training sessions especially when they involve treats. When he knows you, he loves nothing more than a cuddle session. To meet and possibly adopt Jerry, please fill out an adoption application at www.fcacc.org After the application is complete, please contact [email protected] to schedule an appointment to meet him. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control Rescue.
