URGENT - BITE CASE - needs immediate safe placement. Ashland, OR | 8-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound | Male, Neutered, UTD on shots We are urgently seeking a safe and experienced foster or rescue placement for our beloved Treeing Walker Coonhound, Bairn (pronounced 'Bear-n'). He is an active, intelligent, and affectionate 8-year-old hound with professional training, full vet records, and many wonderful qualities-but unfortunately, he has now bitten our toddler twice and gone after him/knocked him down a third time in the past month. We can no longer safely manage him in our home, and are desperately looking for an outlet immediately so we do not have to consider euthanasia as the only remaining option. Bairn is: 'ۢ Neutered, microchipped, UTD on all shots 'ۢ Trained with off-leash e-collar and strong recall (trained by Jackson Sieloff, RunningWild Dogs) 'ۢ Crate trained and house trained 'ۢ Good with other dogs and in dog parks 'ۢ A loving and very capable outdoor hiking/trail companion 'ۢ Food motivated and responsive to clear leadership Challenges: 'ۢ Has bitten our toddler twice and gone after him, knocked him down. 'ۢ Guards me (primary female caregiver) and can be reactive toward certain adult men in the household (growling and lunging behavior and 1 serious bite incidence with my husband). 'ۢ Resource guards raw bones/high-value items. 'ۢ Not safe for placement in any home with small children. Seeking: Breed-savvy, adult-only home or foster placement-someone familiar with Coonhound temperament, resource guarding, and hound needs. He thrives with structure and consistency. Fenced yard preferred. Location: Ashland, OR Transport: We can transport anywhere in Oregon, Northern CA, WA for the right placement. Why this is urgent: After multiple bite incidents, our toddler's safety is our top priority, and our home is no longer a safe environment for either our child or Bairn. We need a safe surrender or foster placement immediately-within the next week if possible-to avoid a tragic outcome. Please contact us if you can help, or know of an experienced rescue or foster with space.
