About Dixie

Originally rescued from a rural Oklahoma shelter where she was too scared to be placed for public adoption, Dixie has come a long way. With patience, routine, and the comfort of other dogs, she's blossoming into a loyal, affectionate companion. Dixie is still shy with new people and doesn't love a lot of movement around her, but she's making steady progress. She'll now go outside unassisted, moves in and out of her kennel with confidence, and leans in for affection-especially when her foster sister is getting pets! A few fun facts about Dixie: - She once tried to help herself to a mug of coffee (we admire the ambition) - She's got a big bark when it counts-especially when she thinks her people are in trouble! - She's starting to play with her dog friends and lights up when she's feeling safe Dixie would thrive in a home with another calm, confident dog and a patient adopter willing to let her come around at her own pace.
