DOLLY is a beautiful 5-year-old, 13 pound Maltese who came to us as an owner surrender. Her coat is so soft that it feels like silk and she is ready to bring joy and love to her forever home! This precious little girl is the definition of a snuggle bug. Nothing makes DOLLY happier than belly rubs and if you talk to her or sit nearby, she'll immediately roll over to ask for one. She has a sweet, playful streak and loves rolling around on you when she's getting attention. She's truly happiest when she's the center of someone's world. DOLLY would be best in a home where her people are around most of the time. She can be an only dog in the right situation, but if left alone frequently, she would benefit from a companion dog to keep her company. She gets along well with the other small dogs in her foster home. She hasn't been around young children, but given her sweet nature, she would likely do well with respectful kids (aged 10 and up). We do not know how she would be with cats. DOLLY is improving on potty training but needs someone to keep working with her. She is still learning to walk on a leash, but with a secure harness we think she should do just fine, even without a fenced yard. She isn't one to spend much time outdoors anyway; she's a true couch companion who prefers lounging inside. She enjoys playing with toys indoors and is always up for a cozy cuddle. At night, DOLLY is happy to sleep in the big bed, but she's just as content on the couch or in a dog bed nearby if you prefer. DOLLY has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida.
