About Mya

We're looking for a new home for our dog, Mya. She's an 8-month-old German Shepherd and Border Collie mix, born on October 15, 2024. This has been a really hard decision for us, but due to our current living situation, we can't give her the stable environment she deserves. We just want what's best for her. �ٴ� Mya is playful, goofy, and full of energy. She loves being outside, chewing on sticks, and playing with our 2-year-old Lab. She enjoys car rides and loves to stretch out and get comfortable when she's sleeping. She's very alert and protective. She barks at people and other dogs she doesn't know, but she hasn't shown any aggression. She has run up to people while barking, but she's never tried to bite. She mostly trusts me and my boyfriend, but sometimes she'll warm up to new people and let them pet her. She is not spayed, microchipped, or vaccinated. She will need to be brought up to date on her shots and deworming. Because of our situation, she's been living mostly in the car with us. She will need some patience with crate training and house manners, but she is potty trained and does pretty well on a leash. She wasn't given much training when we first got her, but she's come a long way. I also have baby pictures of her for anyone interested! Mya needs a home with an experienced dog owner. She'd do best in an active home with a big fenced yard or farm land where she can run and play. She would also make a great watchdog-she's very aware of her surroundings. She likes to chase small critters sometimes and eat bugs (lol), and she's shown some herding behavior too. We're asking a small rehoming fee to make sure she goes to a serious and loving home. She's a beautiful dog, and sadly there are people out there who try to flip or mistreat animals. We're not letting that happen to her. We're only meeting in Lexington, KY.
