Truffle is the sweetest 4yr old girl. We got her from a rescue as a puppy and she's always been energetic, sweet, loving, very intelligent, loves to play but is also ok to nap when we are busy. We work from home so Truffle loves spending lots of time with her family. She's fully house trained, has free roam over our house and is very respectful, except to steal a shoe every so often to trot past us as an attention ploy, not to destroy. She loves tug of war, fetch, sniffing walks, and treat training. She's extremely smart and food motivated and responds quickly to instructions/redirections with a treat. Truffle struggles with anxiety, and has a special friend, a behavioral veterinarian who prescribed some anti anxiety meds and this has helped tremendously. However, Truffle still thinks our baby is not a friend, which is our only reason for rehoming. She also does resource guard food and is triggered by feet near her face. She will protect her food, so we feed her in her crate and don't directly remove items from her and it's worked fine. She is highly food motivated and can be redirected with a treat easily. Truffle would prefer to be the only pet in the home. She is up to date on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Her anti anxiety meds will need to be maintained for her wellbeing. We have been looking for a new home for her since December 2024 without success. She will go to our local humane society on August 11 if a new home is not found for her. This shelter has a horrible reputation and regularly euthanizes animals struggling like Truffle, so I'm desperate to find a new home for her so she is not put down.
