About Chucky

Adoption Fee: $75
Belgian Malinois
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Chucky - Our Loyal Belgian Malinois Chucky is a purebred Belgian Malinois with AKC registration, including lineage details for both his mother and father. He was born in Mexico and brought to the United States as a young pup to begin training as a Military Working Dog at a professional kennel. He remained in training until the age of three, at which point it was determined that he did not have the necessary level of aggression for military work. At that time, we adopted Chucky to be a part of our family. Since then, we've continued his training and he has become a loyal, loving companion. Unfortunately, we later learned that the kennel where he trained was shut down due to allegations of animal abuse and neglect. While we don't know if Chucky was directly affected, it's something we've considered with compassion and care. Chucky recently turned six on June 1st. He has been our best boy and a beloved part of our family. However, it's with heavy hearts that we've come to the difficult decision to rehome him. While Chucky is not aggressive, he does have strong herding instincts that make it challenging for him to be around our small children. He becomes overstimulated when they play, and despite many efforts to create a safe and balanced environment, we've found ourselves constantly having to keep him separated from the family. As active duty military, both my wife and I are away from home more than ever due to a recent move and changing responsibilities. We can no longer give Chucky the time, attention, and structure he deserves. He would thrive in a calm, child-free home with someone who understands working breeds and can provide consistent engagement and care. Chucky is an incredible dog with so much love and loyalty to give. We are heartbroken to let him go, but we truly believe he deserves a home better suited to his needs-a place where he can be part of the daily rhythm and not isolated for safety reasons. If you think you could be the right fit for Chucky and provide him with the life he deserves, we would love to talk with you.
