About Dora

Meet Dora aka - Dora the Explorer and she has earned that title. We might not know her past but she was on the run for atleast 6 weeks and terrified of the world . Finally caught and safe and so scared the ACO was bound and determined to help this very thin girl that was covered in ticks and earn her trust. Once spayed and some weight gain (weeks later) she came into rescue and the ACO drove her over 8 hours to me, her foster mom where the magic of trust and what the good life of having dog friends began . She's a very special soul and will need a very special home that will continue to help build her trust. So about Dora; they guestimated her to be about 5 but we will say shes between 5 and 8 truly hard to say as her body says shes had a hard life . She was most likey abused as well. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is what we call a yellow which is a diluted red tri. She is great with cats, and will need a home with a confident dog that will respect her personal space as it takes her time to warm up to other dogs. She has to have a fenced yard as she was a huge flight risk when she came to me, but didn't take her long to feel very confortable here at my house. The ACO did donate the tracker on that goes on her collar. Dora is fully house trained and crate trained and does love her crate as she uses it when she feels unsure of situations. Dora is very affectionate and does have a lot to say when she gets excited or nervous, Dora does take time to warm up to new people. We have no history of her around the children so older teenagers probably would be fine. Dora is being fostered in Ware Ma There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.
