About WHEATON

Oh for God's sake, WHEATON is just an active, enthusiastic, high energy puppy! He wants to give jump up hugs to every single person he meets. He has nothing but goodwill and love in his heart for humans and other dogs (he wiggles away when he meets his doggy peers!), and if he needs anything it is basic training and manners. He doesn't know he is doing anything wrong, he just knows if he gets excited when he runs into someone (friend, stranger, visitor, you name it) he can flop down, present his belly, and pray that someone will give him a bellyrub. Yes,he needs leash manners, 'graceful greetings' training, and some calming commands like 'down' and 'place' so he can redirect that happy (or anxious) enthusiasm in a positive way and not knock friends over, but that is certainly NO reason to die. We want this adorable, affectionate, social and playful boy to have a long and love filled life (we think he has husky in him because he loves to 'talk' with his howls). Please don't let this kid perish. He needs an experienced, active, fun family who will engage him in training (he is eager to learn and loves treats!). Wheaton is an approximately 12 month old, medium mixed breed, male dog who arrived at the shelter an owner surrender. He was with his owner for the past couple months. It is unknown when Wheaton was last seen by a vet. Wheaton lived with adults. He is playful, friendly and outgoing with strangers and visitors, but will jump up non-stop. Wheaton has spent time around children of various ages and is playful, friendly and outgoing. When on walks when he sees dogs he will whine and will pull towards them and is friendly and outgoing. Wheaton has not spent time around cats so behavior is unknown. Wheaton will hover over his food bowl when touched with a tense body. He is partially housetrained. His energy level is very high.
